Witas and BIM go back a long time. They got to know each other in 2006, when Witas was still an engineering office and used BIM Modeling software for its designs. Over the years, they became life partners and the exponential gathering of Witas’ BIM knowledge has culminated in a beautiful love child: the Witas Localiser.
Since BIM is all about collaboration, it’s is crucial that standards are in place. When they are not, you set out to create them. Long story short: Witas was one of the three major contributors of the Revit Standards Foundation (www.revitstandards.org). Over the last two years Witas has been active in many different initiatives (such as ClusterBIM, Revit Gebruikers Groep, UOB, …) and within that framework the most recent ambition is to set yet another standard which goes beyond Revit Standards, named Techbim (www.techbim.be). Witas firmly believes this standardisation will boost BIM in Belgium to unseen levels, surpassing achievements in our neighbouring countries by far.
BIM has no boundaries. Therefore Witas is not only active in Belgium, but in the Netherlands and Poland too.
Once data and content became available in standardised formats, the time came to really get things started. That’s when the era of applications set in. Applications allow you to check, calculate, report and be more efficient. They also allow you to easily navigate from conceptual to generic and specific, and back.
At Witas, we believe context is everything. Without it there is no sense. The applications we’re building provide a context that is clear so you’ll know exactly which radiator is in a certain space with a chosen ambient temperature and connected to a system with a certain regime. We aim to keep making your modeling world crystal clear and we believe BIM has all it takes to get us there and further.
